Nonprofit organizations often serve on the front line of educating the public and advocating on behalf of those they serve. This webinar is designed for nonprofit leaders who would like to increase their capacity to advocate on behalf of their missions and speak out on public policy issues that have an impact on their ability to meet their organization’s mission. Participants will learn about:
- Finding existing research to support your cause and mission
- Developing educational and advocacy materials related to your mission and service area
- Engaging board members, volunteers and the community you serve to advocate on behalf of your mission
- Raising awareness about how the work you do contributes to quality of life in your community
- Remaining non-partisan and balanced in their advocacy efforts in order to create common ground
- An overview of the rules on lobbying if you’re ready to take the next step and advocate for or against specific legislation
This workshop is appropriate for executive director, board members, and marketing, communications and social media staff.
