As board members, we want to be helpful in raising needed funds for the organization we serve – but how? Especially when we have little to no fundraising experience, the thought of asking for a donation may be daunting and we have limited time to spare. Presenter Lee Ellen Martin will provide board members with the tools needed to effectively engage in fundraising activities with confidence. Both board and staff members will gain from her insight as a fundraising consultant who’s been on both sides of the issue as a staff person and a board member.
Session III: Tips, Tools and Best Practices for Building an Excellent Board

Wrap up the governance webinar series with the tips and tools you need to build and effective and engaged board of directors. Danielle Clore will provide information on establishing an effective board and staff partnership; recruitment strategies; trends in board structure; and best practices, including KNN’s Principles & Practices for Nonprofit Excellence in Kentucky tools. Time will also be allotted for questions and answers as a wrap up to the series.
